Wag and Company fundraising events in 2022

Wag and Company were launched in May 2016. They match and enable professionally assessed volunteers and their special dogs (Visiting Wag Teams) to safely befriend elderly dog lovers across the North East England. Their vision is that no-one should miss friendship and the company of a dog and their belief is that once they reach 1,000 Visiting Wag Teams, evenly spread across our region, they can credibly believe they’re making a meaningful difference to this substantial problem for the elderly in their communities.

They have some pawsome events going on this year:

Wag & Company charity golf day
Attention all golfers! Wag and Company are absolutely delighted to launch the first ever Wag & Company charity golf day which will take place at Linden Hall Golf Club on Friday 17 June. Teams of 4 golfers will play one of the finest golf courses in Northumberland, with some fabulous prizes up for grabs for the winning team as well as the best individual scores from a Linden Hall member and visitor.
There are now over 70 golfers taking part, if you wish to find out more about the Wag golf day should contact Wag supporter and event supremo Alastair Lambie on 07790 494078  or email him at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Great news, we have the date for 2022 - Saturday 17th September 2022.
Walk for Wag has become such an fantastic day out, lots of old and new friends, dogs of every shape and size, Newfoundlands doing a rescue in the reservoir, Police Dogs, the Hexham Uketeers, our older friends enjoying a day out, pizzas, the most gorgeous scenery in this idyllic setting and lots of laughs - what’s not to love! Don’t forget to save the date! Online registration opens on the 1st of June.

Wag and Company Coast to Coast 2022 in July
8 amazing Wag supporters - some quite new to cycling - are cycling the Coast to Coast, Workington to Tynemouth on 2 and 3 July! The challenge is 128 miles with some seriously big hills! Their target is at least £5,000, thats 14 Wag volunteers regularly visiting elderly dog lovers for a whole year! Amazing. So brave!
We are also so grateful to Colin and Leigh who have volunteered to run the event for us and to act as the support team on the day! Loving the new Wag cycle shirts, can’t wait to see you everyone in action!!!
