Rolo

Tell me a little bit about yourself.
My name is Rolo and I am a Patterdale Terrier and I absolutely love playing ball, I could easily do this all day if I was allowed to. I adopted my new family about 10 months ago, I now have them well and truly wound around my little paws. I was 3 in November and I’m a self confessed barkaholic.

I have been told I probably wasn’t taught more polite habits when I was growing up, I’m putting this down to me being born during those covid times, when things were trickier to do for some.

I am very lovable when you get to know me and I really do love to snuggle up to Mummy and Daddy, I particularly like sitting on top of Daddy’s cushion on the sofa right behind his neck. That way he can’t move!

Tell me a bit about your company.
I have studied what goes on here and have decided that these very nice people look after grass, so us lovely dogs (and cats I suppose) have something much nicer to play on.

My Dad has looked after lawns for 38 years he says, that is a long time, and he has 2 very nice men who help him do this work. They keep the lawns around Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire looking really great.

I spend my time all day with Mummy who does an absolutely brilliant job of running our office and making it run smoothly.

What role do you have?
I am the mindfulness coach for the company, ensuring regular breaks are taken so that walks are taken and time is taken to ensure I am kept in peak physical form. The exercise I get all times of the day and night, means there is never a dull moment when I am around.

Due to my barkaholic skills I am also great for security, especially making sure the perimeter around our office is clear of any birds. I take great delight in chasing these off, but I need to develop a better srtrategy for when the pigeons sit and look at me barking from the power lines above our garden.

What is the best thing about your role?
Spending all day long with my Mummy (and then Daddy when he comes home), the constant supply of treats I am always demanding is great as well.

We also get to explore places like The Peak District too, I find these places particularly fun as there are lots of new smells to smell.

In what way does your company benefit from your role?
Because I am so brilliant obviously!

Mummy and Daddy do moan at times, but they really love how cuddly and fun I am. They told me about my previous big brother Fred, who sounds such an awesome character, so I am just wanting to carry on the excellent work he did too

Do you have any funny stories from your role?
I am a bit of a cheeky monkey (well dog) who loves a naughty little play. I find it really fun running off with socks, I never damage them but every time I run off with any, they kindly give me treats just to give up the socks.

My best moment was one day when Daddy was changing to go off to the gym, can you believe it I actually ran off with his pants! It was hilarious

What is your next goal in life?
We are all working on this very hard. But I am trying to work on things so I am more calm around other dogs, for some reason I get myself in to a bit of a pickle. With Mummy and Daddy’s help I am hoping over time this will get much better, as I particularly enjoys even more extra treats when they stop for drinks.

If you could be/do anything for a day, what would it be?
I don’t need all that much really. What I really like is spending days out in places like The Peak District with mummy and Daddy exploring all the places they know so well, wse just love spending our time out as a family.

Finally and most importantly...What was your human’s most embarrassing moment?
I am writing this in December so I think it has to be the times when Mummy gets really embarrassed about Daddy, she has warned me.

On Christmas Day, and the days leading up to Christmas, Daddy likes to wear his Christmas jumper which is really awful on walks to cheer everyone up. Daddy doesn’t seem to mind, but Mummy cringes a bit.
