Hi pals! We hope that everypawdy has been doing ok, and managing to survive this terrible heat (or cold).
Here in Chicago, where we are, we are used to this yukky heat in the summertime. It doesn’t really bother us because we’re inside and Momma keeps it comfortable for us (while she walks around inside freezing). But that’s what she’s supposed to do…suffer for our comfort, right?
She doesn’t seem to understand, though, why we keep insisting on working on our tan in the sun puddles. She figures they would be extra hot if it is extra hot outside. Maybe they are. We don’t really know…because we’re not outside.

The outside critters have been taking drinks from that little pool Momma got for them. The squirrelies have been going on the edge and taking little tiny squirrel sips.
Oh! We have a little black squirrel living (or visiting) in the backyard now! He’s been here for a couple weeks now. Don’t tell anyone we said this…but, he’s kind of cute. Shhhh. You didn’t hear that from us.

There haven’t been any new visitors around here. Just the usual crowd. One fatty raccoon comes around a lot to visit the patio buffet Momma puts out. Boy, that guy is big! He might be bigger than Butter Bean (that’s a tough one).
He came over the other night, laid on his flabby belly, and just munched away on popcorn. Momma was way more into watching him than we were! She can watch those big critters all she wants. We’ll watch the little ones. She must have bad eyesight…that’s why she has to watch the big ones.
That’s all we can figure.

Anyway, hopefully next month is more exciting around here. It’s been so dull.
Nothing to do but sleep even more than usual around here. So our 20 hours of napping a day has turned into 26.
