Duke... visits Clumber
- May  2023

Hi Pals,
So the weather has got a bit warmer and that means a couple of things. Warmer weather means walking naked again- that’s what the hoomans call it as I spend the autumn and winter in a jacket when it’s a bit warmer I walk naked. It also means lovely flowers to sniff

It also means Easter which means looking for Easter eggs or in national trust sites they also do a doggy Easter hunt.

Mine took place at Clumber national trust. I got worried as I heard @Rolohound my hoomans 1st greyhound had nearly been killed off by @loonylankylegs hooman. She was the guide there on a walk she knew turned out it was 8 miles long. He was 12 at the time !!

Hoomans did the adult Easter hunt or more precise they got a sheet and then went to the egg collection point at the end of the walk. My walk meant going round the 2 lakes which is about 6 miles. They have a lovely ice cream parlour there so they had 2 hooman 3 scoop ice creams - rum & raison, millionaires shortbread, jammy dodger.
amaretto cherry, white chocolate and raspberry, mint chocolate chip. They also do doggy scoops ice cream (£2.50 cheaper than hoomans).

After I had recovered from brain freeze we headed towards the dog friendly cafe (Central Bark) to get the dog easter trail. The cafe allows dogs inside and outside it picnic benches and a small agility area.

The sheet told you where the 8 dog stations were. The first 2 being a tunnel and jumps.

In true greyhound style I refused to go through the tunnel. As for the jumps over the logs I plodded over them in my own time. By now I was tired from my earlier 6 mile walk.

So we went to the walled garden and then went back to the start and said we had done the other stations. (missed out weave, A-frame and more jumps to name a few). The prize for completing the trail was a pack of Forthglade treats (they have a sponsorship deal with the national trust).

A good day was had but I slept well in the car on the way home.

Until next time
Love and licks
Duke xx
