Brussels Sprouts

Free Grazing: In moderation
Lifespan: Biennial, although they only produce flowers and seeds on the second year.

Soil Type: Prefers moist but well drained soil with manure in full sun but shelter from the wind.

Life cycle:
Sew from seed From February to April.
Harvesting can begin around August until around March.
Brussels sprouts can grow to about 2 to 3 feet tall (60-92cm)

There are over 110 varieties of brussels sprouts.

When harvesting, start removing the lower sprouts first when they are about walnut size.
Mound soil around the base to give extra support.

They are a member of the cabbage family.

Eating:
Dogs:
Dogs can eat them either raw or cooked. Although being a member if the cabbage family, it is strongly recommended to give sparingly as it may cause a bit of gastric discomfort for the dog eating them and nasal discomfort for and humans sitting in the same room afterwards.

Cats:
Cats can eat small amounts of Brussels sprouts added to their meals, although they will not thank you for adding them.

Rabbits:
Rabbits can eat a small amount of Brussels sprouts added to their meals, but too much could cause gastric discomfort. They cannot eat them if they have been cooked.
