The Capers of Cilla
- July 2025

Hola amigos,
this month is entitled 'The month I had my best day out EVER' muy bien. Honestly pals, I've never been so jolly and apparently well behaved!

It was a long but warm and sunny day that started with a car journey (the car is my third favourite thing after food and the dog park) The drive was only 30 mins to Yarmouth on the other side of the island but it was most comodo and ended at the ferry terminal, we were off to the mainland and Lymington! Luckily I also love ferries and this one has a soft carpeted dog area which is most agreeable.

Arriving in Lymington we went to meet friends in a big camping field and oh gosh, what fun for an hour, five dogs off lead being free to sniff and run. It was carnage, bol. After an enforced rest in the car three of us pooches and some of the humans drove to Hurst Castle. Not quite to the castle but to the end of the spit to walk the last mile. A huge shingle bar stretches out to sea with the Solent on one side and tidal lagoons on the other. Total freedom for Cilla... boom, muy bien! I absolutely loved it, running around with Chuck the labrador and Leo the poodle. Hours of blissful paddling, mooching and freedom in complete safety. Only made better by a picnic and some beef. Some friends fished and caught Seabass, Elaine obviously didn't but just sat and kept an eye on me, wild feral Cilla.

The castle was built by Henry VIII and Elaine says she'd like to go back to visit as it looks very interesting. I'll be staying on the playa thank you muchly..
Right off to dream about paddling in lagoons,
Cilla the explorer x
