Greetings friends.
So homeward bound once more my pupsicles, and as usual I headed back through France towards my northern French vet and the necessary wormer! We decided to take a new route back, as the humans described as 'centre left through France'. This involved a visit to Carcassonne, as described online as a fortified city perched on a rocky hilltop bristling with zigzag battlements, stout walls and spiky turrets. I couldn't have explained it better myself!

It's quite an amazing city but really is up a cobbled hill. This, with my dog chariot, started well but soon turned into a saga of me and the chariot being carried to the top. I was fine but my humans were not only exhausted but a little embarrassed at the debacle. A Dutch couple watched us all the way laughing at our endeavours.

Once up the endless cobbles, the view from the ramparts is beautiful and the city is full of pretty bars and eateries. We found a walled garden wine bar which was like drinking in a private castle garden... albeit full of trendy young French students quaffing Belgium beers. It was super doggy friendly although not so busy with pooches due to the cobbles.

And so further northwards, via Châteauroux for an evening of entertaining line dancing (yep in France!) and Châteaudun for another amazing château. The area is literally littered with them. And then home and a well earning rest.

I wonder now I'm 13 whether that will be my last overseas adventure?
I do hope not.
