Lucy and Nelson - On the Move
April 2026

Hola Amigos/woof hello Buddies,
We are Lucy and Nelson from #ERSRemovals back again and checking in with all our Furry Amigos, what have we been up to since last time you ask Woof. Well not much you know normal dog stuff walkies and the likes.

But we have tasked our Hooman with finding some interesting facts about Spain, has he managed ? (Woof yes again )(woof are we been Lazy again Nelson? Woof no Lucy work smart not hard lol (besides we love Spain what better way to show it than finding interesting facts)
Woof plus when Ashley was Writing this it was mine (Lucy) 4th Birthday woof will let you know in the may edition if I got a yummy Birthday cake , paws cross / hint hint Ashley, since you had to type that bol!

Woof did you know Lucy, that many a old Western was filmed not in the USA but in Spain? Where Nelson? In the Desierto de Tabernas. Woof cool, so that is why there is places like mini Hollywood there? Woof yeap Lucy, but what Films? any we know? Woof have we ever seen the movie a Fist full of Dollars? It was filmed there!
Woof well Nelson, we asked Ashley to check, and various sources are saying over 300 movies/TV shows and Commercials where filmed there since the 1950’s. But a quick search also says the Good the bad and the Ugly was filmed there too, plus Conan the Barbarian, Lawernce of Arbia and for any Doctor Who fans the episode A Town Called Mercy was also filmed there. Plus some Game of Thrones scenes too. The Desert is also the only Proper desert (on mainland Europe)and is 110 square miles, so tiny compared to other Deserts yes but still a Desert.

Spain is one of the most mountainous countries in Europe. Woof your telling me Nelson, every walkie we go on even a short one involves going up or down hill then back! It will maybe come as a surprise that the highest drivable road in Europe is in Spain and it is The Pico Del Veleta at 3398 metres (woof Ashley said that road was featured in a top gear Episode)

Did you know woof Spain has Sky Resorts?
Woof yes, in the Serria Nevadas.

How about a transport fact.
One of the longest, if not the longest, roads in a single Country in Europe, is the AutoVia 7 at 1300km or 810 miles long.
