My name is Lorna and I am a retired Police Officer. Throughout my career I had the opportunity to work with and alongside general purpose dogs, drugs and firearms dogs and obviously explosive detection dogs.
I have always had a natural affinity with dogs, and have been brought up with German Shepherds and the odd mongrel since birth. I have always taken a keen interest in learning about how dogs learn and communicate with each other. Since being a child I have trained all my own dogs, some have been more challenging than others, but they have all taught me a great deal. Whilst as an adult, my work in the police service, understandably, took a great deal of my time; I would always find the time to help, advise and solve friends, friends of friends or colleagues etc problems or issues with their dogs. I am just me and I want to help those poor misunderstood dogs out there lead a more stress free and happy life with their owners. Most problems are down to us humans, and yes I will always say it as it is.
I have studied Canine behaviour and psychology along with attending various seminars; (I am a member of ISAP – The International Society of Animal Professionals). I am always keen to widen my knowledge further with worthwhile courses or seminars, which is why I competed a very interesting course about animal emotions and the effect they have on the animals behaviour (not Dog specific).

1-2-1 CONSULTATIONS
I have a very natural approach to dog training and behaviour and I will strive to offer you sound advice and help regarding any unwanted behaviours. I am happy to work with you and your dog for however long it takes or you need me. Firstly, we do need to identify and understand the cause for the unwanted behaviour and that is usually either caused by a bad experience or something you are doing or have done wrong. Every dog and circumstance is unique but I will help you to understand how your dog learns and communicates in order to address the unwanted behaviour.
Every situation, and dog is unique and different. So whether you need help with behaviour or puppy training and or general training issues, I am always happy to work with owners who want the best for their dogs. I would like to point out though that there are no ‘Quick Fixes’ a dog is a dog and it will take them as long as it takes them to learn and understand what it is YOU are asking of them. Their learning will very much depend on you, how committed and good you are at giving them the clear but kind direction that they need.
BEHAVIOUR CONSULTATION

Every dog and owners circumstances are unique – So I offer a range of behaviour packages to suit all needs both Online and depending on your location In-Person. Prior to all initial consultations I do require the completion of a comprehensive questionnaire. (Please note Separation Anxiety issues are only online consults and All behaviour consults include a pre-consultation curtesy phone call)
PUPPY FOUNDATION
If you have decided to get a dog and have chosen to take on a puppy. Please remember that it is a very confusing time for those cute bundles of fluff when it is time to leave their mum and any siblings to go home with you for the first time. Their learning process starts the minute that they enter your life. So they need your guidance in helping them understanding their new world and environments. Many people expect far too much from their pups, they aren’t being naughty they are just being puppies who know no different. You have to teach them how to behave in our ever changing world. Getting it right from day one will ensure that you have a well mannered, well behaved happy puppy/dog. Many people tend to forget that raising a puppy requires an amount of effort, patience and commitment.
I currently only offer 1-2-1 training both online and in-person for puppies from the age of 8 weeks up.
