Pilot of Ice Pond – Your New Repawting Pal
Hello Pals from around the globe! I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Pilot, an English Springer repawting from my little country corner in Connecticut, USA. I live on the Ice Pond in a very small New England town. Although this may not sound very exciting, it’s quite swell!
Thanks to the suggestion of Sparky and Nelly, I will be sharing my adventures and stories with you from across the pond (the big pond – arf arf arf.)First, a little about me.
I turned 11 in October so although I’m not a spring chicken, I have plenty of energy! I was born on the Great Pond, in our neighboring town and my Dad, Hunter and Mum Gabbi, were champion gun dogs. I am a recreational retriever.
I live on a lake that was once used to harvest big chunks of ice that were canal - ed to many towns and businesses along the Farmington Valley at the turn of the century. It’s rather historical but to me, it’s my favorite place for adventure!
There are woods filled with pine trees and the lake is jumping with bass which Hoobro regularly catches and tosses back! Lots of dog pals live on the Ice Pond. There’s Toby the Jack Russell Terrier, Shey the Goldendoodle, Cooper the hound that rolls in everything, Sophithe beautiful lady poodle and Gia the fashionista Golden Retriever! There’s also Max. He barks at everyone and chases cars (I don’t know what he is…) and several mystery dogs that never come out of their houses! What are they doing in there?
Here on the ice pond, we not only have dog pals, there are wild animals too! Our backyard visitors have included black bears, coyotes, bobcats, owls, woodpeckers, racoons, bats, and a fisher cat, which is not really a cat at all, and can be quite vicious!
There was even a moose on the Ice Pond! He must have walked down here from Maine.
I will be back with adventure stories, dialog with my neighborhood pals, trips to Cape Cod, visits with the Grands and favorite backyard shenanigans!
And, if you have questions about New England, I’m your dog!
Your New Pal,
Pilot
