About:
On the Kintyre peninsula in the village of Machrihanish is this detached cottage, set all on the ground floor and enjoying wonderful views out to the sea, hence its fitting name; Seaview Cottage.Bring your family or friends over to this property and breathe in the fresh coastal air of Scotland and enjoy a family day on the beautiful sandy beach right on your doorstep.Once you have parked up in the ample off-road parking space, and had a glimpse of the large lawned garden to the back of the house, head inside to find the homely setting that you will call yours for the week.Heading in through the back, find the utility room tucked in the corner hosting the all-important washing machine and American style fridge freezer with icemaker for chilled drinks before heading into the kitchen/diner, with lots of space to have all hands on deck when cooking up your evening meal, and enough seating for all to sit around when dinner is served later on with fabulous unimpeded views onto the breaking waves and Jura and the other islands all within the vast seascape.Through to the sitting room, here you can light up the woodburning stove, a fantastic feature perfect for when the wind is howling outside, relax on the sofa and plan the rest of your day’s activities. If you fancy a spot of seal or otter watching take your coffee through to the conservatory at the front of the house with its birds eye view onto the beach.Rest in one of the three bedrooms; choose from either two doubles or a twin room, with one of the doubles delighting in sea views, while the others look out over the garden and the rolling countryside beyond.Decorated and finished beautifully in neutral colours, you will look forward to returning to these tranquil resting spots.Indulge in a soak in the tub or a refreshing shower in the lovely bathroom to begin your day on a positive note. The property's exterior has a beautiful lawned garden to the back, with a secluded gravelled area at the end complete with seating, so you can retreat here on a sunny afternoon with a great book, or come out to this spot first thing in the morning as the day breaks.Around a 2 minute walk will bring you to the local pub.The world famous Machrihanish golf course is only 3 minutes’ walk and the magnificent new clubhouse has recently been completed. The village also boasts a 4 star hotel & restaurant, and if you fancy a bit of pampering, the hotel spa is also open to the public and has a range of treatments and therapies only 2 minutes from the cottage. For anything else you are best hopping in the car and taking a drive to the shops in Campbeltown, which is only 10 minutes away and has two large supermarkets.Campbeltown is actually close to the Gulf Stream so the temperature is generally above the UK average, shown in the growth of palm trees about the town.Have a wander around the historic harbour, take a tour around the museum or catch a film at Scotland’s oldest purpose-built cinema, the Wee Picture House. With walks around this amazing rugged landscape including the Kintyre way which goes past the front door and the ocean both on your doorstep, Seaview Cottage won't disappoint.
