Fortrose is a small seaside village in the Black Isle, approx 15 miles north east of Inverness.

Fortrose Bay Campsite, the campsite we stayed at in our tiny-house-on-wheels is a lovely site situated next to a pebble beach and has pawnoramic views over the Moray Firth.

Up to four dogs are pawmitted per pitch at no extra charge, Pawsome! The only thing to look out for was a road runs through part of the site but it’s not a busy road with it being a quiet residential area. Just make sure your humans keep you on a leash.

The pitches are well spaced and there’s a choice of hard- standing or grass pitches. There are two toilet blocks (for humans, not dogs, BOL!) with showers which are clean and well-maintained as well as a separate unisex/family shower block.

The reception has lots of leaflets on the area which your humans be given on arrival plus there’s a notice outside with the tide times for dolphin spotting.

From the site it’s a short walk to the High Street or to the ruined 13th century Cathedral which mum says is well worth a visit.

But best of all there are plenty of walks nearby including a nice short walk to Chanonry Point where it’s possible to see dolphins at high tide.

Sadly we missed this opportunity as mum being mum and dad being dad meant we were always there at the wrong time. BOL!
